    Congrats

We are congratulating each other on a number of fronts today.

  • Over the weekend my eldest sister finally got married, .. Congratulations to me.

  • We've topped 30 000 users on our Facebook Applications, ... Congratulations to us and to Facebook.

  • We've found a top Prize for one of our Beauty Pageant apps, and that is Kofi Jewellery.

  • We are pulling around 60 000 page views per day in total on our applications. We could viably hit 100 000 page views per day by next week.

Oh, and we have another app idea.

How many users does ClutterMe have?

Since launching on October 1st, including all the accounts that were given out before our launch we have just over 900 registered users and about 5000 Anonymous accounts where users have made at least 1 change to the interface.

To keep tabs on our progress a '7 day' summary of ClutterMe can be found here.

    Facebook App Stats

Well, FacebookPresident is doing quite well. Over 5000 users in one week. And we are managing to drive around 60 hits to ClutterMe every day.

We've also made two other Facebook Applications, they are brand new with over 1000 users and 300 users respectively. I don't think we'll announce them just yet, they are still in their infancy.

Monetization of apps is pretty slow, using Appsaholic, 7000 page views yields around $2.00 on a good day, with Cubics the number is around $3.00.

I heard Cubics is operated in Toronto so hopefully they will read this. Starting with a high QR and decreasing it is a smart strategy, but DON'T DECREASE it to single digits if you start at 50. The amount the QR decreases is dramatically over proportional to the amount the CPM goes down, why do that? QR is an arbitrary measure, if my CPM goes down 20 cents, make my QR go down 5 points, not 45. I can see why people always complain about their Cubics QR, it seems like the system is built to make you feel bad, the net effect isn't me wanting to increase my QR, it's me switching back to Appsaholic. Low QR gives the impression of low CPM.

    Update, 09-21-07

Well the cat's out of the bag...

We made a 'Facebook President' app, where you can run to be elected President of Facebook. Already around 40 users in just over two hours, we're pretty happy with our progress.

So now we can start coding again for ClutterMe. Hopefully our app will continue to grow and be a nice source of additional traffic.

How exactly do our Facebook Apps integrate with ClutterMe? Presidential candidates have the option of submitting a link to their website to go along with their candidate profile. They are recommended to use ClutterMe.

We do have the easiest website creator on the Internet so we'll gladly promote it.

As a sidenote, my sister is getting married in two weeks and I'm in dire need of a shave.

    FacebookCamp2 Toronto

Date: October 10th, 2007. We wanted to network but we wimped out, typical programmers.

We saw Greg Thomson, creator of the My Aquarium/My Universe/My Garden facebook apps. Greg presented at FacebookCamp1 and while he was by far the best presenter, nobody was climbing the walls to code fbml. FacebookCamp2 was different. The consensus in the room was that Facebook Apps can pull down some serious page views.

Amazing Revenue. Greg's assertion that one can potentially quit his job over a facebook app with 250 000 installs just blew my mind. It makes sense, no? Each 'active' user, he claims, is worth $3.00 annually. Top that off, his own estimation is that he has over 500 000 active users in a little less than three months of work.

Woah, we're in the wrong business. If these numbers are correct, and Greg seems like a face value type of guy, then we're missing out on (serious) page views. So we're re-appropriating our effort for a couple of days for MY PRECIOUS-ss-cc, err, I mean page views.

It's hard coding for something that you didn't make. We've spent the past two days learning Facebook App. All for ClutterMe, but she's worth it. I guess we'll soon find out whether this was wasted time or an invaluable side project.

As always, we'll keep you updated.

    One week overview...

In one week we gained about 500 new users, exceeded 15000 page views and are now averaging 20 new sign-ups a day.

A large part of our job will now be to keep the momentum going. We have thought up some methods to ensure this. Chief among them is to keep improving our product by releasing new features and improving the old ones.

The biggest news source that we've been covered by is Mashable. Most other reviews and user feedback have similarly been very positive. If I was drinking my own cool-aid I would say ClutterMe is a rocket ship with unlimited potential. A more realistic assessment is that we've released a solid product with an very happy round of early adopters.

We will actively try to continue publicizing and growing our network in the next couple of weeks. Right now however we're turning inwards to nurture and sustain our most valuable resource - you guys. If you want to see something on ClutterMe, let us know.

    Thanks,
    Mark from ClutterMe

You can really do that on the Internet !?

    Just one more Demo Video.

    The beginning of ClutterMe...

So I guess that's it. Four months of hard work go into one release. From our end we are pretty happy with the way things went.

We received from great reviews (see sidebar) and an amazing screencast from Molly MacDonald.

    The next step...

We're hard at work trying to fix some bugs and implement new features. New features? You betcha. We have a laundry list of things we have to get done that will hopefully make ClutterMe just the most irresistable web app there is.

Speaking about apps, we should also officially unveil our Facebook App. Be sure to invite all your friends.
